Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park hosted Rounds 3 & 4 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series.

Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park turned on the lights and hosted evening races for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO. In spite of the threat of rain over the weekend, racers enjoyed mostly dry conditions on the Phoenix-area off-road course. It’s still early in the year, but the on-track action was in mid-season form already at the second weekend of racing in the 2015 season.

Kyle LeDuc is off to another hot start in Pro 4 this year.

In Pro 4, Kyle LeDuc swept the field at Rounds 3 and 4. LeDuc, coming off his Pro 4 Championship last year, is off to a hot start. LeDuc’s weekend sweep now gives him three of four race wins on the year. Bryce Menzies certainly tried to keep LeDuc honest, however, as he left the racetrack with two second-place finishes. Carl Renezeder and Rob MacCachren split third-place finishes in the class over the weekend.

Rob MacCachren earned to podiums this past weekend, with his best finish being a Pro 2 win at Round 3.

Rob MacCachren rounded out the podium at Round 3 with a third-place finish in Pro 4, but the veteran MacCachcren had an even more impressive finish with a first-place finish in Pro 2, edging out Brian Deegan and Jeremy McGrath, respectively. At Round 4, Patrick Clark edged out Bryce Menzies for the win, while Jeremy McGrath again finished on the podium in third.

Sheldon Creed (1), last year’s Pro Light Champion, leads Round 4 winner Jerrett Brooks (77) over the jump on the front straightaway.

In Pro Light, Ryan Beat took the win in the packed Pro Light class, finishing ahead of the other 22 racers in the class. After a tough outing in Round 3 where he finished 10th, Jerrett Brooks took the Round 4 victory to keep himself in the hunt for the season championship.

Garrett George (71) and Dave Mason (65) battle in Pro Buggy at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.

In Pro Buggy, Chad George edged out the field to earn his second victory of the season. Taylor Atchison finished in second at Round 3, while Darren Hardesty rounded out the podium in third. Dave Mason earned the victory at Round 4, holding off Garrett George for the victory. Kevin McCullough finished the race in third to earn the final podium spot.

Droves of fans turned out for the racing in Arizona. The next race will be at the end of May in Southern California.

The Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series takes a short hiatus until its return at the end of May at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Southern California. For more information on the series, visit LucasOilOffRoad.com.
