2017 Nissan Titan Captured

This is the 2017 Nissan Titan in regular cab, light duty form, caught undisguised while hitching a ride from a forklift.

While the Titan XD with the 5.0-liter turbodiesel V8 is just launching now (check out our First Drive of the Titan XD here), Nissan is busy preparing the rest of the new Titan lineup. Due for the 2017 model year are the light duty models to compete head-on with the likes of the Ford F-150, Ram 1500 and Chevy Silverado.

Unlike the last full-size Nissan truck, the second-generation Titan will have a larger lineup offering to appeal to more truck buyers, and that includes the addition of a regular-cab version for more basic commercial needs. The truck seen in these shots will likely be the price leader, appealing to users who need a truck more for work than lifestyle choices.

A V6 should also join the lineup for 2017 on the light duty models, as well as the 5.6-liter gasoline V8 that will also be offered in the XD.

Expect to see the light-duty, second-gen Titan out later this year as a 2017 model.
